That Darn Cat!
Continuity Editing Examples-
The Devil Wears Prada Intro:
1. In the first scene you see Anne Hathaway's character taking her underwear out of her drawer and then she is fully dressed and leaving her room. The viewer just assumes that time has passed especially because of the upbeat song in the background "Suddenly I See", which I think connotes a quickening of time.
2. Immediately after you see Anne's high heeled shoes on pavement then her entering a building and looking around which the viewer assumes is her going into a new building and looking around. I think it's very interesting how so much information can be shown in less than a second of filming.
3. You also see Anne leave her apartment and with great editing a car passes by which immediately changes the scene to her on the streets of New York. This is one of my favorite editing jobs from any movie as I fweel like it connotes so much in such little time without any real sound effects.
