Continuity Editing

First Example: Quantum of Solace (James Bond)

There is a car chase scene right in the beginning of the movie, where James Bond is the one being chased. The scene cuts from the clutch, to the changing of gears, to a far away shot, all very rapidly. I feel that the fast pace and quick changes keeps the viewer on the edge of the seat and makes the chase scene look like it is going a lot faster.

Second Example: Rocknrolla

The "Wild Bunch" tries to steal money from Uri Omovich the Russian developer for a second time, and run into some trouble. The camera switches from inside the car containing the money with the bodyguards getting hit, too a panned view of a 18 wheeler smashing into the car. The camera then switches to the "Wild Bunch" trying to break into the car. This looked cool, because it let you as the viewer feel like you were there to both take part in it, and witness it happen.

Third example: Butch Cassidy And The Sundance Kid

This is the scene where Butch comes over to pick up Etta and arrives on "the future" (aka a bicycle). The two go on a bicycle ride together. Many different types of shots are used in the scene which give it a playful feel. This movie is one of my favorite movies of all time.
